Description
Magpie geese (Anseranas semipalmata) are unique among waterfowl. They differ from true geese in several ways. Magpie geese have only partially webbed feet, enabling them to roost in trees. They go through a continuous partial molt so there is never a flightless period. They are a common sight around the lagoons and billabongs of tropical north Australia and Southern New Guinea.
