Button-quails are small, secretive birds which rarely fly and seldom leave the security of the dense grasses and brush of their preferred habitat. Female button-quails are more colorful than the males and defend a territory from other females and will mate with several males. There are fifteen species of button-quail scattered across Australia, Asia, and Africa. The Red-chested Button-quail is endemic to north and eastern Australia.

I have spent the better part of my adult life traveling the world searching for adventure and making photographs. The world is full of the marvelous. Nature is my inspiration. Enjoy! "The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all art and science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed." -Einstein
