Description
The Palm Cockatoo is endemic to New Guinea and the Cape York Peninsula of Australia. They are very intelligent birds and very inquisitive. Male Palm Cockatoos attract females to a suitable hollow tree for nesting by fashioning a drumstick from a branch, with its strong beak, and drumming on the hollow tree with a hypnotic rhythm. Palm Cockatoos are among my favorite bird species that I have been fortunate enough to observe in their natural habitats!
